Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information OC Scoop Direct, a service of Orange County Scoop, LLC of Yorba Linda, California ("we", "us"), collects through ocscoopdirect.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've kept it in plain English.

What we collect

What you tell us. When you fill in the Get Started form we collect your name, business name, business category, the city you want to reach, your email address, your phone number (if you give it), the format you're interested in, and anything you write in the message box.

What your browser sends. Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and basic browser details when you visit. We use your IP address to stop spam (for example, limiting how many forms can be sent from one address in an hour) and keep it only briefly for that purpose.

Cookies. We use only the cookies the site needs to work, such as the ones that keep the form secure. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics. We use Fathom Analytics to count visits. Fathom doesn't use cookies and doesn't collect personal information or track you across other websites.

How we use it

• To reply to your request, check availability on upcoming mailings and prepare your ad.
• To keep a record of our conversation with you in our customer system.
• To email you about your request and, now and then, about upcoming mailings in your area. You can ask us to stop at any time.
• If you advertise with us, to design, print and mail your ad and to list your business on OrangeCountyScoop.com.
• To keep the site secure and working.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with companies that help us run our business, such as our hosting provider, our email delivery service, our printer and mail service, and, if you buy an ad, our payment processor. They may use it only to provide their service to us.

The ad you place is meant to be public: it's printed on the postcard and appears on OrangeCountyScoop.com.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we're working with you and for a reasonable time afterward for our records, or longer if the law requires it. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see below).

Your choices and California privacy rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and to stop emailing you. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, like encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to our systems, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee it.

Children

This site is for businesses. It isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update it here and change the date at the top. Big changes will be made clear on the site.
