Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of ocscoopdirect.com and requests to advertise with OC Scoop Direct, a service of Orange County Scoop, LLC of Yorba Linda, California ("we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to them.

Using the site

You may use the site to learn about our mailings and to contact us. Please don't misuse it: no spam, no attempts to break in or disrupt it, and no false information in the form.

Prices, mailings and availability

Prices, mail dates, routes, home counts and open spots on the site are given in good faith but can change. Sending the form doesn't reserve a spot. A spot is yours once we've confirmed it with you in writing.

Mail dates can shift because of printing or Postal Service schedules. We'll keep you informed if your mailing moves.

Category exclusivity

Each shared mailing (the Co-op and Community postcards) carries one business per category. We decide how categories are defined for each card and will tell you before you commit if your category is taken. Exclusivity applies to the specific mailing you're on, not to other mailings or other areas. A solo mailer (The Skinny) carries only your business.

Your ad

• You're responsible for your ad's content: that your offer is accurate and honest, that you have the right to use any logos, photos or trademarks you give us, and that your ad follows the law.
• We design your ad and send you a proof. Please check it carefully. Once you approve it, it's printed as approved.
• We may decline or ask you to change any ad that we believe is misleading, unlawful, offensive or not a fit for a community mailing.
• You give us permission to print your ad, mail it, and show it and your business listing on OrangeCountyScoop.com and in examples of our work.

Payment

You pay after you've approved your proof, on the terms in your order or invoice. If you cancel after approving a proof, or after printing has started, the ad may still be charged.

Delivery and results

Postcards are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service through Every Door Direct Mail. We can't control the Postal Service and can't guarantee delivery dates or that every home receives a card. Home counts are the Postal Service's route counts and are approximate.

We work hard to make every mailing effective, but we can't promise any particular number of calls, visits, scans or sales.

Our content

The site, its design and its text and images (other than ads supplied by our advertisers) belong to us. Please don't copy them without permission.

Links to other sites

The site links to other websites, including OrangeCountyScoop.com and our advertisers' sites. We aren't responsible for websites run by others.

Disclaimers and limits on liability

The site and our services are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties not stated in these terms. If something goes wrong with your ad, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for that ad, and we aren't liable for indirect or lost-profit damages.

You agree to cover us for claims arising from the content of your ad or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Orange County, California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Terms agreed in an order or invoice apply to that order.
